SCHOOL BUS MAINTENANCE FACILITIES UPDATE WITH THE LATEST VEHICLE DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEMS FROM DIAGNOSTIC INNOVATIONS LLC
Southfield, MI (July 19, 2006) - SCHOOL DISTRICTS improve vehicle maintenance capabilities. In an effort to more effectively maintain bus fleets, School Districts are adding the Vehicle Diagnostic Assistant™ to their maintenance facilities. The Vehicle Diagnostic Assistant™ (VDA) is a computer based tool that helps technicians with the repair of vehicles. The VDA provides technicians with a vast array of computer based tools that focus directly on the vehicles engine, transmission and braking systems. Mr. David Izell, Lead Mechanic for Burnet Consolidated Independent School District says that "The state of the art vehicle diagnostic system, has been a tremendous help by making problems with vehicles specific and narrowed down." He said that the codes provide information that show where the problem is and what he is supposed to do about the problem. The Vehicle Diagnostic Assistant™ has saved Burnet Consolidated ISD work, time and money. He said that by knowing the problem, Burnet did not have to pay a full sized wrecker up to $500 to haul an 84 passenger bus over 50 miles to Austin Texas. Mr. Izell has also felt secure in using the system on the side of the road in bad weather. Because the system is ruggedized, he didn't have to worry about the rain destroying the system.
In the year 2005- 2006 North Allegheny Transportation Department transported 9200 Students over 1.3 million miles. The students were transferred by 128 vehicles to 67 schools. It is important for North Allegheny to have high quality transportation. To increase productivity, the School District Transportation Department utilizes software and hardware provided by Diagnostic Innovations LLC. Head Mechanic Tim Collins says that the custom made software is everything he expected. The software analyzes a variety of equipment. He told Diagnostic Innovations what equipment he had and they custom fit the program according to his needs. Without the software he couldn't diagnose vehicles with new electronic equipment. The Transportation Department prides itself on being able to handle the repairs of its entire fleet in house. The diagnostic tools helped the department to do this. They have saved on towing fees and diagnostic fees. Mr. Collins says" The diagnostic tools are perfect. They are exactly what I wanted."
